I've just become aware of this DTE meter-approved portable generator device hook-up and wanted to share it with you.

DTE has announced approval of their 'Surge Protection Plus' metering and portable generator installation meter.

These have been around for about 5 years and adopted in other states.

This includes the surge protection, transfer switch and generator outlet.

Runs automatically.

DTE installs the meter. There is a monthly charge.

As I understand no electrical permit required.
