    The next Wednesday Education Forum will be April 6, 2016.  Topic is "Electrical Plan Review Basics" presented by Bert McAlister for 2 hours Plan Review. Program will begin at noon at the Ukrainian Cultural Center.


    The next Thursday Education Forum will be April 7, 2016.  Topic is "2014 NEC Chapter 5, Special Occupancies - Articles 500-590 and Chapter 7 - Special Conditions - Articles 700-770" for 1 hour Specialty and 1 hour Technical.  Program will begin at 7:00 pm at the Southfield Civic Center.

    The following is information received from DTE that is important to all in the electrical industry. This is being posted as a service to all who may be affected.

    DTE Energy is rolling out a rate book change. The MPSC has put in a change that resulted in DTE Energy placing the following text in to the rate book, All new, relocated or upgraded residential service connections will be installed as underground residential service laterals at the customer’s expense.”

    The Bureau of Construction Codes (BCC) is working to move away from publishing online lists of approved code update classes, P.A. 54 courses and track individual's classes taken for a cycle.  The Reciprocal Electrical Council, Inc. (RECI) membership becomes more valuable than ever. 


    All members of the RECI will have all of their RECI courses tracked by the RECI office.  The RECI office will provide the required documentation the BCC requests, should you be audited by them.

    The 2014 NEC has been adopted and went into effect as of June 18, 2015.  

    NOTE: A 2014 NEC Update class will be required to renew your 2017 license.  

    The RECI will be offering update classes in a sit down setting as well as online.  Please watch the website for updates and a schedule when it comes available.

    Beginning with the November 7, 2013 Thursday forum, there will be a $10 fee to attend the program.  

    As with all other classes the RECI offers, you will be able to pay for the Thursday program in advance on the website with a credit card if you wish.
