If you have an electric kiln with nameplate rating of 47 amps, what is the wire size and overcurrent protection that is required?

There is nothing in the MRC that deals with a continuous  load which I am assuming a kiln would be (operating for three hours or more) so we need to go to the NEC and the NEC would have us apply the 125% rule. Hence 47a. times 1.25 is 58.75a. Wire size would be #6 cu or #4 al with a 60a. overcurrent device.
